Snoring can be caused by the vibration of loose tissue in the back of the throat (soft palate). In extreme cases the airway can become blocked which is known as obstructive sleep apnea. Many factors can contribute to snoring such as age, nasal and sinus problems, being overweight, alcohol, smoking, medications, and sleep posture. Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition that needs to be assessed in a sleep laboratory. Fotona treatments may assist the condition, but do not cure sleep apnea. ## Treatment Laser energy is used to heat the tissues of the airway causing a tightening effect which helps to keep your airway open. Each treatment lasts about 15-30 minutes and requires no anesthesia. Patients find the procedure to be quite comfortable and can resume their daily routine immediately afterwards as there is no downtime. Some results will be seen after the first session but we recommend completing 3 treatments over the course of 6 weeks to achieve maximum results. ### Schedule a Meeting With An Expert [ Book Now ](https://6537727.hs-sites.com/martins-consult-booking-page) ![Martins Final - website-1](https://www.medspapartners.com/hubfs/Martins%20Final%20-%20website-1.jpg) (705) 735-0639 [info@martincentre.ca](mailto:info@martincentre.ca) 526 Bryne Dr, Barrie, ON L4N 9P6 [Follow us on Facebook ](https://www.facebook.com/MartinsRejuvenationCentre) [Follow us on Instagram ](https://www.instagram.com/martinsrejuvenationcentre/) Copyright © 2022 Martin's Rejuvenation Centre.
